Gordon C. Gunn, M.D.
Dr. Gunn chose medicine as a profession early in life. Inspired by his father, a respected obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Gunn was eager to pursue the same career.
He received his medical degree from Baylor University College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After completing his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA Center For Health Sciences, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as the gynecology oncologist at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, DC. During this tenure, he promoted the development of a new surgical procedure that later became known as “laparoscopy”.
After completing his Air Force tour of duty, Dr. Gunn moved to Fullerton in 1971 to establish his private obstetrics and gynecology practice. In 1986, he began to develop a center dedicated to gynecology and women’s health care. His goal was to create a warm and attractive facility, where both his philosophy and professional standard of medical care would continue to meet the changing needs of his patients. Dr. Gunn’s practice evolved through the years and in 2001, Gunn Center of Gynecology & Female Urology was established.
In 2004, he welcomed partner, Nancy A. Towbin, MD and the practice was renamed Gunn Towbin Center . Together, they share a dedication to providing the best medical care and health education to patients.
Dr. Gunn is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and by the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy, Inc. and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians/Gynecologists. He holds current memberships in a variety of professional organizations including American Medical Association, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, Internal Federation of Gynecologic Endoscopists, American Urogynecology Association and the International Continence Society.
Dr. Gunn and his wife, Andrea, have four grown children and four wonderful grandchildren. Together, they enjoy the blessings of every day.
